Personal Interests

In the summer of 2013, I had the opportunity to study abroad for seven weeks in Barcelona, Spain, and it was one of the most valuable and eye-opening experiences of my life. Living with a host family not only improved my conversational Spanish, but gave me a true feeling of what life is like in a different culture. I returned to the United States with a changed outlook on the world economy, politics, energy consumption, and social norms. During my time in Spain, I also visited Rome, London, Paris, and several small towns in the Catalonia region of Spain. Each day I took a one second video and later compiled them in an attempt to represent my seven weeks abroad. Fifty three seconds doesn't begin to encompass all that I saw and learned, but it was worth a try!

Apart from traveling I have a number of other interests and hobbies. I am a shameless Harry Potter nerd and have been for almost my entire life. I have a background in dance and enjoy attending Zumba, jazz, or hip-hop classes during my free time. I am also a diehard Texas Longhorn Football fan, and I'm excited about the team's recent changes. Hook 'em!
