Professional Experience

Like most college students, I have a hodgepodge of work experience, but each position I've held has taught me valuable skills that are easily transferrable into a professional environment. I've tutored high school students in algebra and geometry, worked as an employee of Bahama Bucks Shaved Ice Company, and am currently a Peer Advisor in the BBA Program Office within McCombs.

At Bahama Bucks I prepared a wide range of frozen dessert products, managed and counted money, and communicated with customers. During summer rush times, my job often required me to multitask in hectic situations. I learned about customer service and how important communication is amongst coworkers and clients. I also proved that I am not above being delegated certain, unenjoyable tasks - cleaning toilets included.

I now work as a Peer Advisor in the BBA Program Office, which essentially means I'm responsible for communicating the school's academic policies and procedures to both current and prospective students. I'm trusted with confidential information, such as GPA's and other important records. I'm comfortable working closely with students and have learned to prioritize important tasks while staying calm in a stressful environment. One of my favorite aspects of my job as a Peer Advisor is our team's capability of balancing professionalism and lightheartedness, as evidenced by this short introductory video of the 2013-2014 Peer Advisor team.
