Extracurricular Activities

I am actively involved in Delta Delta Delta Fraternity as a member of the philanthropy committee. I have helped organize several different fundraising events and campaigns for Tri Delta's national philanthropy, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  St. Jude's mission to cure childhood cancer is both personal and meaningful for me, and I'm passionate about the work I am able to do as a member of this committee. In conjunction with my fellow committee members, other chapter members, and our peers, our chapter raised over $109,000 during the past year. This makes Texas Tri Delt one of the top ten fundraising chapters in the nation, an accomplishment of which I am quite proud. This fundraising effort required collaborating with local businesses, meeting time-sensitive deadlines, and paying close attention to detail. I gained experience in event planning, delegation of tasks, and positive marketing and advertising.

My Tri Delt pledge class spent philanthropy day of recruitment week teaching
potential new members about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I am also a member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society (GBP), a scholastic and service group organized by University of Texas students. This organization gives me the opportunity to give back to the local Austin community, whether it be by volunteering at food banks or mentoring children at nearby elementary schools. GBP also offers valuable lectures from guest speakers monthly at chapter wide meetings, where I've learned about on-campus research opportunities, career planning, and networking skills.
